About Me
I found an ancestral chart started some years ago by the Steuben County Historian for my mother's Underhill ancestors who lived in Bath, Steuben County, New York and later in Corning, New York. I wanted to fill in the blanks so started searching and found a lot of my father's ancestors (who immigrated from Ireland at various times). I later found more of my mother's ancestors in the 1790 US Census in lower Manhattan.Boasts

William Walter Allen & his wife Helen Maria Gansevoort lived next door to Anthony Lispenard Underhill & his wife Charlotte Louise McBeath.

1790 U.S. Federal Census
1790 U.S. Census shows the family in the township of West Chester. The census shows 3 free white males, 5 free white females, 7 slaves.

Third Ward Assistant Alderman then Alderman
In 1814 the NYC Council Minutes show he is the Assistant Alderman in the 3rd Ward. in 1816 he becomes the Alderman and is reelected in 1817.
