About Me

Marla Raucher Osborn, a member of the Gesher Galicia Board of Directors and former California attorney, lived for 5 months in 2011 in Lviv, Ukraine and 3 months in 2012 in Kraków, Poland for the express purpose of exploring Galicia, visiting her family's Galician town of Rohatyn, and researching in local archives.

She has written numerous articles on her travels in Galicia, Ukraine, and her Rohatyn family research, and has spoken at Jewish institutions and events, including in 2012 at the JCC and Galicia Jewish Museum in Kraków and the 32nd Annual IAJGS in Paris. In November 2012 Marla spoke before 150 Rohatyn high school students about the town's pre-War Jewish families.

She returned to Kraków, Lviv, and Rohatyn in April and May 2013 to participate in a conference on Jewish heritage preservation, to speak again to students in Busko-Zdrój, and to collaborate in a French TV production on Galician Jewish heritage travel and tours, a growing phenomenon across central and eastern Europe, which airs on France 2 on July 4, 2013.

Marla will also be presenting at the 33rd annual IAJGS Confrence in Boston in August 2013.

Her articles have appeared in Gesher Galicia's newsletter The Galitzianer, Jewishgen's Success Stories, Jewishgen's Blog site, and on the Jewish Heritage Europe website.

Marla and her husband currently live in Paris.
