My grandma is the reason I started working on my family tree.
She had collected and kept various items over the years, pictures, little notes, old Christmas lists, all her Rebekkah papers.
When she passed away I wanted to know more about the people whose names she had written down.
Inspired, my quest to explore all aspects of my family history has taken me across Canada, into the USA and virtually around the world.
I have spent countless hours on my computer, looking at microfilm at the library and traveling with my kids to cemeteries. I think it is important that they learn about their history too.
This inspired my 6 year old daughter to write a book about her life.
I am so thankful that my grandmother was interested in recording what she knew about her family.
My job is to now pass on what I know and share it with my children.
What a wonderful task.
Thank you, Grandma.
