Looking back at those early research days, thirty-five years later, I can't help but think how luck was involved. I was lucky to discover quite a bit of interesting information--enough to satisfy my father, to give him what he'd asked of me. To this day I have brick walls that I am still pounding on. Those early successes gave me hope that I'd find more about my past to share with my Dad. When he died my father left behind a loving legacy, and a daughter who due to his request, was now entirely immeshed in discovering her, and his, family tree.
