I am not exaggerating when I say that without my cousin, Elbert Stringer, Our Georgia Roots would not exist.
The family history Elbert shared with me in the late 90s was just enough to point me in the right direction & has blossomed from a small text paragraph to the website of today.
Just as his image conveys, Elbert was a meticulous man. He was always smiling & happy to welcome family.
I can still hear his deep southern drawl as he called the name of Cousin Annie {my Great Grandma Jackson, his first cousin} & Baby Sister {my Grandmother Fannie}.
My favorite memory of Elbert is of him transporting my Mom & I to Dekalb Medical Center in Atlanta, when I was in labor with my oldest son, J.
Elbert ran EVERY light!
He was a man who TRULY loved family & this work is in honor of him.
